What is home insurance vs. home warranty? Is it necessary to have one or not?
Many people may have heard of home insurance and home warranties, but they may not know much about them. What is home insurance, what is a home warranty and is it necessary to have one? Today, I'm going to give you an overview!
Home insurance: It is a type of insurance for the construction of a home. Usually, if you take out a loan to buy a home, the mortgage company will require home insurance to protect the interests of the mortgage company and the cost depends on the area and the condition of the home. If your home is damaged by fire, wind, rain or lightning, or if it is burgled, then if you have home insurance, the insurance company will pay for the cost of repairs or damage from the burglary.
Having a home insurance policy is vital for the current market conditions. With the changing environment and natural disasters occurring, especially in mountainous areas where earthquakes and flash floods are common, home insurance is a necessity as property damage can easily occur if a home is not resilient to disasters.
It covers all electrical equipment such as heating, air conditioning, water heaters, dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, etc. The warranty varies from region to region and details can be obtained by contacting your local warranty company directly. The exact price will also depend on the area and the size of the house as well as the condition of the old and new. If your home's water heater or fridge breaks down, then the home warranty company will pay for the repair of the water heater and fridge.
A home warranty is also well worth purchasing. For homeowners, whether they are buying or renting, the deterioration of appliances, furniture and systems within a house is inevitable. A home warranty ensures that when the infrastructure of a home becomes old, it can be repaired effectively. Importantly, the cost of a home warranty is nothing compared to the high cost of repairs. In the event of damage to equipment covered by the home warranty, the homeowner can call the home warranty company, which will send a professional to inspect the home. If the worker identifies that the item to be repaired or replaced is covered by the warranty, he completes the work and the homeowner pays a small fee for the service.
In simple terms, home insurance provides compensation for damage caused by major disasters, while home warranties provide compensation for damage to household appliances and other items. What they have in common is that, in addition to the annual fee you pay, the homeowner has to cover a portion of each claim and the warranty company pays the rest.
